Job Overview

In support of the Corporate Security Team mission to protect and help the people, property, and quality of the health system, the Executive Protection Specialist will provide safe and efficient transport and protection services for senior leadership/management, manage law‑enforcement liaison, special event security, and physical security as needed, and will be armed.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ten years of prior law enforcement, military service, or professional executive protection experience.
  • Valid New Jersey Driver’s License and driver’s license transferred if out of state within 60 days of hire.
  • Valid Retired Police Officer permit to carry a firearm/handgun.
  • Valid New Jersey Security Officer Registration Act (SORA) Level 2 Armed Security Officer license.
  • New Jersey Permit to Carry a Handgun.
  • Level Three Retention Holster for approved handgun.
  • Minimum of five years prior law enforcement experience or military service.
  • Certification in de‑escalation training within 90 days of hire.
  • Preferred:
    One year of customer service, security experience, or prior military service.
  • Proficiency in keyboarding/data entry and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bilingual language skills (e.g., Spanish, Portuguese, Polish) preferred.
Scheduling Requirements

Full‑time employee required for evening shift.

Essential Functions
  • Conduct patrols and monitor facilities to maintain secure environment.
  • Transport executives and approved passengers to and from corporate facilities and other locations.
  • Demonstrate highly technical driving skills, knowledge of regulations, and basic automobile mechanics.
  • Collaborate with local, state, and federal law enforcement.
  • Prioritize executive requests and manage competing duties.
  • Make decisions, plan strategically, and exercise critical thinking.
  • Maintain personal and professional standards of integrity and compassion.
  • Function effectively in high‑profile situations and exercise sound judgment.
  • Maintain excellent physical condition, meet vision and hearing requirements, and perform defensive driving practices.
  • Maintain certifications in first aid, CPR, AED, and de‑escalation training.
  • Provide professional customer service while monitoring potential threats.
  • Manage access control systems, perform data entry, and utilize Microsoft Office for incident reporting.
  • Communicate with diverse populations and maintain confidentiality regarding executive information.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state firearms regulations and maintain knowledge of relevant laws.
  • Conduct pre‑trip security checks and develop diversion plans for events.
  • Coordinate with executive assistants and maintain schedules.
  • Use company vehicles responsibly, record mileage, maintain appearance and service.
  • Attend annual defensive driver training and respond to emergencies, including administering CPR and operating AED.
  • Respond to crisis de‑escalation situations employing certified techniques.
  • Other duties as assigned; responsibilities may change without notice.
