Responsibilities- Prepare, administer, and document medications, tests, treatments, and IV lines
- Record time spent performing individual treatments, in accordance with ancillary services policy, on the medication/treatment record
- Ensure proper storage and security of drugs and biologicals in accordance with facility policies and procedures
- Notify the physician of refusal of medication/treatments, non-compliance with a treatment plan, and resident response to medication regime, with prompt notification to the physician of any adverse reactions
- Keeps medication cart, refrigerator, and room neat, clean, and medication stored properly
- Assist in the orientation and training of new nursing personnel, as required
- Practice, implement, and supervise Infection Control, Universal Precaution, and safety policies and procedures

- Current active license as a Registered Nurse in the state of employment
- Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical information in the English language
- Full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that enable these senses to function adequately to meet the requirements of this position
- Experience in long-term geriatric nursing care preferred
