Job SummaryGCSU’s J. Whitney Bunting College of Business and Technology is hiring a full‑time Lecturer of Business Communications to begin in Fall 2026. The position involves teaching four courses each semester in Professional Writing, AI Prompt Engineering, and other Business Communication courses with an emphasis on career readiness, international communication, and conflict management. The lecturer will support the core curriculum across undergraduate business majors and contribute to the department, college, and university mission.
Responsibilities- Teach eight courses per academic year (four courses Fall, four courses Spring) in Professional Writing, AI Prompt Engineering, and related Business Communication courses.
- Plan and deliver effective instruction, facilitating engaging class meetings and providing timely feedback to students.
- Mentor students and support their academic and professional development.
- Conduct ongoing professional development through research, peer‑reviewed scholarship, and presentations at professional meetings.
- Engage in scholarly activities such as publications, grant applications, and participation in professional organizations.
- Serve on departmental, college, or university committees and contribute to outreach activities.
- Offer consulting and continuing education services to support departmental or institutional needs.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching, learning, and diversity in the academic community.
- Ph.D. (terminal degree) in Business Communications or a closely related field preferred; a master’s degree in the field is required.
- Demonstrated higher‑education teaching experience and strong communication skills.
- Knowledge of current philosophies, practices, and theories in Business Communications.
- Ability to demonstrate a developing research agenda and scholarly output.
- Compliance with SACSCOC accreditation requirements (C.S. 3.7.1).
- Evidence of methodological innovation and creative teaching strategies.
- Enthusiasm for working with high‑achieving students in a community focused on scholarship.
- Commitment to advancing diversity and inclusion in the academic environment.
Minimum salary $62,000.00 to maximum salary $65,000.00. Relocation is negotiable.
