Job SummaryThe College of Arts & Sciences seeks a Lecturer to teach undergraduate courses in first-year physics sequences and their corresponding labs. The successful candidate may also be called upon to teach in the introductory astronomy courses. As the primary instructor for physics labs, the successful candidate will coordinate lab activities and continue edits of lab manuals. This non-tenure track faculty position, based in the Department of Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics, is a 10-month academic year position.
Responsibilities- - Full-time instructional load teaching (15 contact hours per week) in areas of expertise within the academic discipline
- - Regular course meetings and instruction
- - Ability to maintain internally developed Physics and Astronomy lab materials and resources.
- - Maintenance and weekly set up of equipment for either the Astronomy or Physics laboratories.
- - Other teaching responsibilities
- - Knowledge and ability to convey current philosophies, practices, and theories related to the academic discipline.
- - Faculty also contribute to the Georgia College & State University core curriculum by teaching topical freshman (GC1Y) or sophomore seminar (GC2Y) courses.
