Job SummaryThe Budget Analyst is responsible for analyzing and monitoringfinancial and budgetary data for select institutional units. This position performs technical fiscal work in budget development and ensures the proper financial management of various fund sources.
The Budget Analyst prepares, amends, and maintains institutionalbudgets; prepares financial reports; and adheres to establishedfinancial practices, policies, regulatory requirements, and internal controls.
- Monitoring - 50% Prepares, monitors, amends, and maintains institutional budgets toensure accurate and up-to-date financial planning. Trains and guides select institutional units on proper financial reporting practices, including revenues, salaries, fringes, andnon-personal services. Manages technical and transactional functions within OneUSG Connect(HCM) and People Soft Financials to ensure accurate salary andfringe benefit reporting. Conducts in-depth data analysis of budgetary and financial information to support decision-making in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Serves as a key resource for financial compliance and reportingaccuracy across assigned departments. - Analyzing - 30% Analyzes and interprets financial and budgetary data across selectinstitutional units; monitors expenditures and revenue trends to identify potential budget variances; compiles and evaluatesstatistical information to support sound fiscal decision-making;and develops actionable budget recommendations aligned with institutional goals. Serves as a key resource and liaison for campus partners and unitmanagers, providing guidance and collaborative solutions tobudget-related inquiries. Works to ensure financial accountability, transparency, and efficiency throughout the budgetary process.
