Psychology Department Research Asst.

Dr. Allura Ralston (Assistant Professor in the Psychology Department) is seeking research assistants for the assistance in research tasks including a study on social anxiety and a study on sibling relationships with transgender and gender diverse communities. Research assistants will support the day-to-day needs of these studies under the direction of Dr. Ralston. Activities will include assisting with recruitment efforts to identify participants, enacting the role of an experimenter during study visits, and helping with data analysis and manuscript writing.

Research assistants must be able to participate in study tasks in person (Luek Hall, Millersville University campus) for 14 weeks for 10 hours/week. Anticipated start date is August 24th and the position will conclude at the end of the Fall 2026 semester. Clearances for working with children are required.

Required Qualifications:

• Enrolled as Graduate Student
• Completed coursework in research methods
• Completed CITI training for ethics in research with human subjects
• Clearances for working with children
• Must be referred by Dr. Allura Ralson before applying

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior research experience
• Prior experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults

Job Duties:

• Assist in study visits in the Psychology Department Research Suite in Luek Hall on Millersville University's campus.
• Collaborate as part of a research team to carry out research tasks, analyze data, and write manuscripts.
• Assist in recruitment efforts to invite participants to participate in the study.
• Adhere to the IRB protocol for the two studies in the implementation of these duties.
