Position – Lead Sheet Metal Technician (Aircraft Structures / MRO)
The Lead Sheet Metal Technician is responsible for performing and overseeing structural sheet metal repairs, modifications, and installations on aircraft in a maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) environment. This role requires strong structural repair experience, leadership ability, and the ability to support heavy maintenance operations on widebody aircraft. Military sheet metal experience will be considered.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Perform structural sheet metal repairs and modifications on aircraft components and structures
- Lead and support sheet metal technicians during heavy maintenance and modification activities
- Remove, repair, and replace aircraft structural components including skins, panels, floor beams, frames, and supports
- Fabricate and install sheet metal parts such as brackets, doublers, and reinforcements
- Read and interpret SRMs, blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical documentation
- Perform drilling, riveting, cutting, fitting, and structural assembly tasks
- Troubleshoot structural discrepancies and determine corrective actions
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with FAA regulations and company standards
- Inspect completed work to ensure quality and airworthiness
- Assist in training and mentoring junior technicians
- Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and records
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Other duties as assigned

High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 4+ years of aircraft sheet metal experience required
- Widebody aircraft experience required
- Military sheet metal experience considered
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Strong knowledge of aircraft structural repair and sheet metal practices
- Experience performing heavy structural repairs and modifications on aircraft
- Ability to read and interpret SRMs, engineering drawings, and technical manuals
- Experience with drilling, riveting, fitting, and sheet metal fabrication
- Ability to fabricate and install structural components and reinforcements
- Strong attention to detail and quality standards
- Ability to work in a fast-paced MRO or heavy maintenance environment
- Leadership experience or ability to guide and support technicians
- Must provide own tools
- Ability to lift, stand, and work in various physical positions throughout the shift
