The RN Unit Manager supports the Director of Nursing with the delivery of efficient and effective nursing care while achieving positive clinical outcomes, and patient/family and employee satisfaction during a designated shift. The RN Unit Manager serves as a clinical and operational liaison between units and the DON, ADON, medical director, and other nursing staff. He/she is responsible for the clinical operations of the Nursing Units including ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, practice standards and regulations. This is primarily Monday-Friday position, but with rotating Manager on duty and/or On-Call.

• Observe and monitor residents’ health and assess their needs to provide quality care
• Work with physicians to create individual care plans and assist them during required operations or procedures
• Maintain complete healthcare records and reports including PCC being utilized according to best practices
• Supervise, manage, and assist in training LPN’s and GNA’s on staff
• Perform routine procedures as needed, including administering medication and injections, and provide emergency medical care when necessary
• Collaborate with DON in maintaining adequate staffing coverage
• Assess work performance of nursing staff while on duty ensuring timeliness in services to our patients/residents
• Maintain security of the facility, creating an environment that is respectful, team-oriented, and responsive to the needs of our staff, patients, and their families
• Monitoring nursing care to reduce hospitalizations and ensure positive outcomes
• Reviews prospective Admissions in relation to existing nursing capabilities and ensures readiness to treat
• Ensure that patient's attending physician and family or responsible party are promptly notified of any significant change in the patient health condition
• Investigates patient/family complaints and takes appropriate actions to bring to resolution

• Current RN license in the state of Tennessee
• BLS/CPR certification
• In-depth knowledge of nursing care methods and health and safety guidelines
• Responsible and compassionate with outstanding organizational and communication skills
• Experience supervising GNAs and LPNs in a nursing home setting
