The RLC Psychology Lecturer (RLC-PSY-Lecturer) will create, manage, and participate in a variety of learning environments and activities that provide opportunities for RLC students to develop to their fullest potential and achieve their learning objectives. The lecturer collaborates with faculty and staff to promote the well‑being of the department and college and supports the guiding concepts for the College embodied in its philosophy, mission, values and vision.

The primary function of this position is to teach dedicated Delaware Campus courses.

Essential Job Functions Instruction & Student Learning
  • Teach assigned courses, oversee curriculum in conjunction with department policies, ensuring program rigor and instructional quality.
  • Design lessons that foster student talent, model comprehensive teaching strategies, and consider sociocultural issues of traditionally underrepresented groups.
  • Support diverse learning needs by identifying students with academic or other needs and providing appropriate resources.
  • Use technology appropriately and communicate expectations regarding its use.
  • Maintain accurate records, attendance, grades, and provide timely feedback to students.
  • Create accurate syllabi incorporating departmental, college, and cross‑college requirements.
  • Select appropriate instructional materials and conduct classes punctually.
  • Develop assessment techniques to measure student performance and enhance learning through digital and online resources.
Student Engagement & Advisement
  • Create a positive classroom atmosphere encouraging active and collaborative learning.
  • Maintain office hours, use technology for communication, and foster a sense of community.
  • Advise students on programs, careers, and transfer options, and refer them to support services.
Continuous Improvement
  • Assist in maintaining instructional materials and laboratory facilities.
  • Contribute to development, selection, and improvement of instructional resources and curriculum design.
  • Complete mandatory performance evaluations, participate in required training, share best practices, and engage in instructional research.
  • Provide feedback on departmental, divisional, and college operations and participate in faculty meetings and committees.
Professional Development
  • Conduct self‑appraisals, set professional goals, and participate in development activities.
  • Contribute to planning, evaluation, and presentation of college professional development programs.
  • Maintain required credentials, licensing, and continuing education hours.
Culture of Respect
  • Foster and maintain a safe environment of respect and inclusion for faculty, staff, students, and community members.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Psychology or School Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Experience in teaching/learning settings.
Additional Information

Compensation

9‑Month Lecturers Salary*: $43,848.00 – $50,112.00 (Autumn/Spring: $21,924 – $25,056). Optional Summer Semester (15–21 contact hours): $15,660.00 – $21,924.00. Optional Overload (maximum amounts shown):

  • Autumn Semester (6 contact hours max): $5,865.00
  • Spring Semester (6 contact hours max): $5,865.00
  • Summer Semester (6 contact hours max): $5,865.00
