Nutrihealth is a medical weight loss company focused on improving patient’s overall health. Patient’s satisfaction is our top priority. We are seeking a highly motivated and friendly Medical Assistant to join our Nutrihealth team. Teamwork and professionalism are crucial. This role will float and travel to other locations as needed.
Duties as the Medical Assistant and Receptionist position include but are not limited to:
- Obtaining and recording patient medical histories, vitals, test results, and other information for medical records while maintaining strict confidentiality
- Assisting the front desk staff on as needed basis in scheduling, patient check-in and check-out, and patient medical record maintenance
- Preparing treatment rooms for clinical examinations
- Confirming if Prior Authorizations are required and submitting requests promptly, following up on delayed or outstanding Prior Authorizations, and working proactively to prevent denials through accurate and timely submissions
- Delivering compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families
- Welcoming patients and visitors in the office and answering inquiries or referring questions to the appropriate staff member
- Assists patients with insurance and billing questions
- Scheduling and confirming appointments for the providers and nutritionists/dieticians
- Collecting copays and payments for prescriptions and gym memberships
- Verifying insurance and preparing patient forms
- Ensuring compliance with all health care regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA
Qualifications
- Proven experience in medical administrative support and front desk operations
- Proficient in managing medical records and patient service
- Strong computer skills
- Excellent clerical and office experience, with a focus on customer service
- Ability to handle multi-line phone systems
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and health information management systems
