Job Description
Supervises the medical department, which provides hands‑on clinical treatment, nursing services, and first aid to employees who become injured or ill on premises. This position supervises all case management for worker's compensation cases. Ensures pro‑active wellness programmes are carried out daily. Participates in accident investigations. Conducts walk‑through assessments of high‑incident areas. Facilitates communication between the employees and management. Develops and documents policies to ensure compliance with state and federal law.
Interacts with new hires during onboarding.
- Provides direction and support to the nursing team when dealing with occupational injuries and illness to achieve operational and safety goals. Partners with H&W Centres on occupational (DOT and Respirator physicals, Hepatitis B and Blood Born Pathogens) needs.
- Supports the recruiting process by managing the post‑offer physical process. Makes determinations based on established guidelines. Manages the administrative processes for the medical department. This includes file and chart storage, supply orders, etc.
- Works with the safety department to manage WC cases, promotes a culture of safety.
- Accident assessments, walk‑through assessments in high incident areas, look for improvements.
- Monthly reporting on respiratory tests, fit tests, Hep B and Premise WC.
