Senior Operations Technician

Job Overview

We are seeking a Senior Technician to join our production teams using key technologies for cell culture, filling, and packaging at our Millsboro, DE Animal Health facility.

• Cooperate with manufacturing equipment throughout the production cycle, performing manual and/or automated operations, general maintenance, and support functions.
• Anticipate and solve complex production/operational problems and organize own time and that of others, supervising work when required.
• Read, write, and comprehend technical information and impart knowledge to colleagues at various levels; perform advanced mathematical calculations and conversions.
• Maintain housekeeping and perform facility decontamination according to approved procedures.
• Execute aseptic procedures including media preparation, antigen inoculation and harvest, tissue culture preparation and harvest, and filling of vaccines.
• Perform non‑aseptic procedures such as handling live poultry during tissue harvesting and waste processing.
• Fill, label, cap, package, and inspect product, and keep concurrent records (charts, logbooks, documentation).
• Identify compliance, environmental, safety, and process deviations, notifying appropriate personnel.
• Accountable for hazardous waste management, ensuring proper labeling and disposal.
• Plan and implement daily and weekly laboratory assignments and special projects, attending training as necessary.
• Demonstrate safe work habits and maintain a safe work environment, complying with all safety and company policies.
• Train, mentor, and supervise other team members; assist with weekly reports and committee work (safety, quality, etc.).
• Provide leadership: act as a facilitator to resolve conflicts, ensure written procedures are followed, maintain team safety, and keep equipment and facility properly maintained.

• Education:
  
  High School diploma/GED with a minimum of 2 years laboratory or production experience; or Associates degree in Science or Engineering with a minimum of 1 year laboratory or production experience; or Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering.
• Experience:
  
  Ability to read, write, and comprehend technical information; operate manufacturing equipment with training; strong attention to detail and documentation; proficiency in mathematics and computer skills; effective communication and teamwork in manufacturing environments; successful completion of a Physical Abilities Test.
• Preferred:
  Experience in aseptic clean‑room operations and behaviors.

May require rotating shifts and overtime; travel not required.
