Aptask Global Workforce (AGW) is seeking a Lab Tech - I (Assistant) - Onsite for a contract position with a Pharmaceutical Company located in Millsboro, DE. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.
This role supports an antigen production lab in a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. Duties include the execution of aseptic processes, general housekeeping, and closed system processing. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail and experience working in a cooperative manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Work with a variety of manufacturing equipment while completing processes throughout the manufacturing cycle
- Assist with equipment setup and operation
- Perform manual and/or automated operations, general maintenance and support functions
- Execute facility decontamination according to approved procedures and maintain housekeeping in all work areas
- Assist with performing aseptic procedures including antigen inoculation and harvest, cell culture preparation and harvest
- Assist with performing non-aseptic procedures including handling of live animal virus in the process of harvesting tissue and waste
- Maintain concurrent record keeping including charts, log books, and all pertinent documentation
- Identify and address compliance, environmental, safety, and process deviations as appropriate while notifying appropriate personnel
- May be accountable for accumulation, labeling and management of hazardous wastes, as appropriate to their area
- Demonstrate safe work habits and maintain a safe work environment
- Assist in weekly reports as assigned
- Attend training classes, workshops, and meetings to improve job skills and product-related procedures
Requirements:
- Minimum High School diploma/GED
- Minimum 1 year of experience (pharmaceutical manufacturing facility experience preferred)
- Ability to operate manufacturing equipment with training
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
- General knowledge of reading, mathematics and computer skills
- Ability to communicate and work in cooperation with other employees in a manufacturing environment
- Successful completion of a Physical Abilities Test (POET)
- This position may have varying hours based on the needs of the business, may require a rotating shift including some weekends, and requires flexibility for overtime
Pay range: up to $22.33 per hour
