Job Description

Viridian Staffing’s Client is looking for an experienced Cannabis Head Grower to help lead cultivation operations for an indoor cannabis cultivation facility in the Northern Delaware area.

Founded in 2013, Viridian Staffing is the original staffing, recruiting, and HR consulting firm solely dedicated to organizations in and supporting the commercial, medical, and adult-use cannabis/hemp industry.

Are you a hands‑on cultivation leader who enjoys building systems, developing teams, and producing high-quality cannabis in a regulated indoor environment? Do you have experience taking plants from propagation through harvest and post‑harvest while also creating the structure needed for consistent production? If so, this could be the right opportunity for you.

In this role, you will help lead the cultivation program for a growing indoor facility. You will work closely with leadership to establish cultivation schedules, workflows, plant health standards, production goals, and day‑to‑day operating procedures. This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys being in the grow, solving problems in real time, and helping build a cultivation operation the right way from the ground up.

The ideal candidate will bring several years of commercial indoor cannabis cultivation experience, including experience with cloning, propagation, vegetative growth, flowering, harvest, drying, curing, and post‑harvest handling. You should be comfortable managing crop schedules, monitoring plant health, evaluating environmental conditions, and making adjustments to improve yield, quality, consistency, and overall production performance.

You will be responsible for helping manage the full cultivation lifecycle, including mother plants, propagation, harvest schedules, plant nutrition, irrigation, environmental controls, IPM, sanitation, and compliance‑related cultivation records. You should also be comfortable working with ownership and leadership on strain planning, production timing, labor needs, and cultivation performance goals.

This is a hands‑on 'roll‑up‑your‑sleeves' role in a lean environment, so the right person will not be looking for a desk‑only management position. You should be comfortable jumping in wherever needed, coaching the team, holding people accountable to quality standards, and ensuring cultivation tasks are completed accurately and on schedule. While you will be involved in team direction, training, scheduling, and performance accountability, broader employment decisions will be handled in partnership with the leadership team.

You should have strong knowledge of indoor cannabis cultivation best practices, plant nutrition, fertigation, environmental controls, Integrated Pest Management, harvest planning, drying, curing, and post‑harvest quality standards. Experience with cannabis compliance and inventory tracking systems is preferred, and experience with systems such as Bio Track, Growlink, Argus, Priva, Trol Master, or similar platforms would be helpful.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of commercial indoor cannabis cultivation experience, along with prior experience leading cultivation teams and managing production schedules. Experience helping launch, scale, or improve a commercial cultivation facility is strongly preferred. A background in horticulture, plant science, agriculture, or a related field is a plus, but not required.

You must be able to work onsite in Northern Delaware, be comfortable working in a fast‑paced and highly regulated environment, and be able to perform hands‑on cultivation work, including lifting up to 50 pounds as needed.

Compensation: $55K-$90K/year
