Job Description & How to Apply Below
Operate mobile, crawler, and barge-mounted cranes on heavy‑civil, bridge, and marine construction projects across the Mid‑Atlantic. You'll handle the lifts that keep field crews moving — setting precast structures, steel components, drainage pieces, and equipment on sites where rigging precision and load‑chart discipline matter.
Current high‑visibility work includes the Delaware Memorial Bridge ship‑collision protection project, alongside DOT bridge, marine, and large site‑development jobs.
Responsibilities- Operate assigned crane per NCCCO best practice and OSHA 29 CFR 1926 Subpart CC.
- Conduct daily and pre‑lift inspections; tag out and report unsafe conditions immediately.
- Read and apply load charts for each lift; verify ground conditions and outrigger pads.
- Coordinate with riggers, signal persons, and the foreman on every pick.
- Maintain awareness of overhead and underground hazards, swing radius, and exclusion zones.
- Keep the cab, deck, and rigging gear clean; perform light maintenance and grease as required.
- Mentor apprentice operators and ground crew on safe lifting practice.
- Current NCCCO certification (or state‑equivalent) for the crane class(es) you'll operate.
- 5+ years operating mobile, crawler, or barge‑mounted cranes on civil, bridge, or marine projects.
- Working knowledge of load charts, rigging hardware, and signal protocols.
- Current OSHA 30 and a clean driving record; CDL is a plus.
- Comfortable working at height, over water, and in all weather conditions.
