Job Description:

* Assumes professional responsibility for providing comprehensive developmental guidance and counseling services for elementary school students
* Provides counseling services; individual, group, classroom guidance, and family counseling, as well as crisis intervention services to students
* Advocates for students who need additional services through outside agencies
* Collaborates with school teams on behalf of students who are in need of counseling services
* Maintains accurate records that document information concerning the type of services rendered to students and their families

Qualifications:

* NJ Educational Services certification as School Counselor required
* Master's or higher degree from a regionally accredited 4-year college/university required
* Broad knowledge of testing and evaluation, theories of individual and group guidance techniques, and guidance conflict resolution
* Counseling and teaching experience preferred
* Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with students, parents, staff and community groups and organizations

Starting Salary: $64,000.
