Production Supervisor
The Batching Technician role is responsible for ingredient preparation and batching processes by following recipes, operating mixing equipment, and supporting sanitation and quality checks to ensure consistent, safe, and efficient production in a manufacturing environment.
Supervisory Responsibilities:None.
Duties/Responsibilities:- Follows detailed batch recipes and SOPs to ensure accurate formulation and compliance with strict quality standards.
- Operates and monitors mixing, blending, and processing equipment throughout the production cycle.
- Tracks raw material inventory and reports shortages or discrepancies
- Performs quality control checks and collect samples for testing.
- Keeps accurate production records for traceability and regulatory requirements.
- Adheres to health, safety, and food quality regulations (e.g., GMP, HACCP, FDA, SQF)
- Cleans and sanitizes equipment to prevent cross contamination.
- Troubleshoots and assists with light maintenance on production machinery.
- Maintains accurate logs, batch records, and production documentation to support audits and regulatory compliance.
- Works with peers to train and develop training materials.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Mathematical & Analytical:
Strong mathematical skills with the ability to calculate, add, subtract, and multiply, often handling fractions, decimals, and percentages to ensure precise ingredient ratios. - Communication & Teamwork:
Strong verbal and written communication for reporting, recording lot numbers, and working with team members. - Quality & Safety:
Strict adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), OSHA regulations, and quality standards to ensure product consistency. - Technical & Operational:
Competence in operating, monitoring, and troubleshooting automated batching systems and plant machinery. Knowledge of material handling and inventory control.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1+ yrs experience in manufacturing, food processing, or related fields preferred.
