Floral assistant

Join our creative and friendly team as a Floral Assistant! In this role, you'll help create beautiful floral arrangements, assist customers with their floral needs, and ensure our shop is welcoming, organized, and stocked with fresh flowers. Whether you're designing everyday bouquets, preparing sympathy and celebration arrangements, or helping customers find the perfect gift, you'll play an important part in making meaningful moments for our community.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a passion for flowers, creativity, and customer service. Previous floral experience is required, preferably within a retail flower shop setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist with creating fresh floral arrangements for everyday occasions, holidays, weddings, and sympathy services
• Process, condition, and care for fresh flowers and greenery to maintain quality and freshness
• Help customers in person and over the phone with floral selections, orders, and product recommendations
• Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system and process customer transactions accurately
• Receive, organize, and restock flowers, plants, gifts, and supplies
• Prepare arrangements and orders for pickup and delivery
• Maintain attractive floral displays and ensure the shop is clean, organized, and inviting
• Assist with holiday production and other busy seasonal events
• Work collaboratively with the team to provide outstanding customer service

Qualifications

• Previous flower shop or a retail floral position for experience is required.
• A creative eye for color, texture, and floral design
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks
• Basic computer and POS experience preferred
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds
• Dependable, organized, and detail-oriented
• Willingness to learn and work as part of a team
• Weekend and holiday availability is preferred
