Overview
Customer Service – Temporary Contract
Location:
Pleasanton, CA
Hours:
Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (must be open to overtime)
Pay: $35/hr to $40/hr
Contract Duration:
Approximately 3 months, with potential for temp-to-hire for the right candidate
We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Customer Service Representative to support our crushing operations in Pleasanton. This position begins as a customer service role with the opportunity to grow into dispatching and truck scheduling over time. You will work closely with customers, drivers, dispatch, sales, and plant personnel to coordinate deliveries and ensure excellent service. After training, you may work independently in the office while managing a steady workflow.
Responsibilities- Answer incoming customer calls and emails regarding products, pricing, orders, and deliveries.
- Enter and manage orders using internal systems.
- Coordinate deliveries with dispatch, sales, drivers, and plant personnel.
- Communicate scheduling updates and resolve delivery issues.
- Educate customers on delivery minimums, cancellations, overtime charges, and company policies.
- Track orders from placement through delivery.
- Maintain accurate customer and order records.
- Coordinate and schedule trucks for daily deliveries.
- Utilize multiple systems, including dispatch software, Google Sheets, and internal platforms.
- Assist with administrative or inside sales duties during slower periods.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2 to 3 years of customer service experience required. Construction, transportation, logistics, manufacturing, or industrial experience is preferred.
- Dispatching or trucking scheduling experience is highly preferred but not required.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills. Google Suite experience is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable communicating with blue-collar customers and truck drivers.
