Field Service Engineer – Responsibilities

• Install and service instrumentation with minimal supervision according to ISO and GMP standards, while providing thorough follow-up service to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Call customers after service completion to verify all needs were met and document all service activities in compliance with GMP requirements.
• Maintain proper car stock inventory, test equipment, tools, and technical documentation.
• Properly maintain and utilize company vehicles according to corporate fleet policy, ensuring resources are ready for service calls.
• Display maturity and judgment in time management and expense control, keeping all travel and site visit expenses within established guidelines.
• Accountability for company‑issued credit cards, travel advances, and management of spare parts inventory.
• Report quality control and technical problems in detail to the Service Center and System Support Engineering Manager.
• Interface with other departments and managers to resolve customer issues promptly and thoroughly.
• Serve as a representative of BD by promoting and maintaining excellent customer relations through high standards of personal appearance, ethical behavior, maturity, and good judgment.

• High School diploma.
• Minimum 3 years of troubleshooting instruments or components.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Willing and able to travel minimum 50% of the working time.
• Physical capability to lift and maneuver objects up to 50 pounds.

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Engineering, or related technical/biological discipline.
• Experience as a Field Service Engineer, especially with medical devices or similar technical equipment.
• Experience with flow cytometry technology.
• Experience in customer-facing roles.
• Demonstrated ability with diagnostic tools (digital multimeters, oscilloscopes).
• Proficiency with MS Office applications (Word, Excel).
• Familiarity with Mac and PC operating systems.

Salary range: $25.20 - $40.30 USD per hour.
