Overview
Volt is immediately hiring Industrial Engineer in Milpitas, CA
.
As an Industrial Engineer 2, you will:
Responsibilities- Provide process time estimation to the quote team.
- Simulate process, materials and manufacturing workflow and provide input to process engineers using REFA, MOST, WITNESS and appropriate tools.
- During NPI, coordinate process planning and setup with respect to takt, cycle time and direct labor requirements.
- Review results during prototyping and trial runs and provide feedback to NPI and sales teams.
- Work on measurement programs and examine work samples to develop standards for labor utilization.
- Examine staff utilization, facility layout, and operational data such as production costs, process flow charts, and production schedules to define efficient utilization of workers and equipment.
- Recommend methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities, such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing workflow, relocating workstations and equipment, and purchasing equipment.
- Conference with management and engineering staff to implement plans and recommendations.
- May develop management systems for cost reviews, financial planning, wage and salary administration, and job evaluation.
- Develop management control systems to aid in financial planning and cost reviews, and design production planning and control systems to coordinate activities and ensure product quality.
- Design or improve systems for the physical distribution of goods and services, as well as defining the most efficient plant locations.
- Manage and support initiatives to increase throughput, reduce costs and improve performance in constrained areas like Lean, Automation and/or Six Sigma projects.
This is a 12-month Full-time contract opportunity.
ScheduleSchedule: 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM Monday through Friday.
Qualifications- Typically requires 4 years of experience in engineering in a high-volume assembly operation.
- Demonstrates advanced operations, technical and people and/or process skills as well as customer relationships (external and internal).
- Demonstrates expert knowledge of the function and a thorough understanding of related business.
- Demonstrates knowledge of multiple functional technologies/processes, industries or functions and understanding of interdependence of such processes at the site.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively communicate with managers and employees of the organization.
- Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts and statistical methods as required.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret a wide variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form, and to deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Impacts the near-term operational success of the function and contributes to process improvements.
- Demonstrates capability in leading major initiatives that may impact multiple sites/customers.
Pay Rate: $36.05 to $40.86 per hour.
