- Job Title: Manufacturing Design Reliability Engineer
- Job Location: Milpitas, CA
- Work Schedule: Onsite
- Pay Rate: $63.37/hr, Based on experience.
- Create, edit and validate Reliability Block Models, using Reliasoft Applications, including Weibull, Block Sim, Xfracas.
- Evaluate, from a reliability standpoint, the materials, properties and techniques used in production.
- Advise design engineering on selection, application and test of electronic components and systems.
- Recommend design or test methods and statistical process control procedures for achieving required levels of product reliability.
- Determine reliability requirements of components and systems to achieve company, customer and any governmental agency reliability objectives.
- Develop new acceleration techniques and analytical tools to assure the early identification of potential problems with new products, packaging, processes, and product reliability.
- Make recommendations for changes in the selection and application of components and systems.
- Propose changes in design or formulation to improve system and/or process reliability.
The client’s reliability engineer role is different from traditional reliability roles. The candidate must be proactive, not a passive data reporter. Must seek out data, collaborate closely with teams, and not wait for information to be provided.
Technical RequirementsReliability best practices; failure physics, mechanical/electrical engineering, materials science; accelerated testing; scientific basis for test design; reliability test plans; FMEA; reliability block modeling.
Experience WithE-beam (electron beam) technology (strong preference). Reliability tools such as Relia Soft, or equivalent; not required but beneficial. Experience in design – electrical or mechanical or both. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience with electron beam (e‑beam) technology Weibull. Attend design reviews. Good understanding of engineering, physics. At least 5 years of experience with reliability. Embedded with design team.

- Ability to present to executives (with support as needed).
- Outgoing, collaborative, strong teamwork mindset.
- Formal reliability degree not required.
- Strong preference for engineering degrees (electrical, mechanical, physics).
- Minimum 5 years practical experience preferred.
- Experience more important than advanced degrees (though many on the team have PhDs).
- E-beam tools
- Relia Soft (Weibull, Block Sim)
- Other reliability modeling applications
- Understanding of applied failure physics and manufacturing reliability.
- Candidates should be able to engage in technical discussions and design reviews.
- May not perform hands‑on failure analysis personally, but must understand physics and mechanisms.
- Embedded with design engineers.
- Support ~3–4 programs.
- Attend design reviews, reliability planning meetings.
- Drive testing, improvements, and documentation.
- Potential executive presentations depending on skill.
