Engineering Manager

Trillium Professional is now seeking an Engineering Manager for direct-hire in Milpitas, CA!

Annual salary: $145-190K per year, DOE.

• Supervises estimators, manufacturing engineers, planners and tool crib employees.
• Hires, fires, trains and recommends compensation for the team.
• May authorize overtime as required to meet department requirements.
• Determines the best process for manufacturing parts produced by the company.
• Responsible for departmental budgets and determines the price at which a part may be sold while maintaining minimum profitability.
• Plans manufacturing processes to ensure manufacturability.
• Directs the activities of the engineering department, plans standard routing, orders tooling and other items necessary to manufacture parts for customer orders.

This position requires access to information controlled under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). The successful candidate must be a “U.S. person” as defined in the ITAR and EAR (which generally means (i) a citizen or national of the United States; (ii) a lawful permanent resident of the United States; or (iii) one admitted to the United States as a refugee or granted asylum).

Supervises the Estimators, Engineers and Planners to make efficient use of raw materials, to plan the manufacture of parts at the lowest cost to the company and to ensure that minimum selling price reflects a price at which the company will be profitable.

• Supervises the work of estimators to ensure accuracy of estimates.
• Plans and develops manufacturing steps to produce parts efficiently and timely.
• Develops formulas to ensure consistency of the department's output and serves as an engineering resource for new product development.
• Ensures best possible turnaround time for new estimates.
• Responsible for development of new products and product realization from the engineering perspective.

• Understanding of production and manufacturing processes and techniques.
• Knowledge of quality systems and standards.
• Experience in process improvement techniques.
• Knowledge of business, finance and management principles.
• Knowledge of engineering and technology principles and practices.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, project management, and presentation skills.
• Excellent leadership/management and business acumen skills.
• Driver’s license, auto insurance and acceptable driving record.

• Experience/knowledge of Semiconductor OEM product design requirements.
• Experience/knowledge in Aerospace/Satellite heater and cable products.
• Materials Engineering/Design Engineering knowledge.
• Previous management experience and finance, marketing, procurement knowledge.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• 3-5 years senior engineering leadership in semiconductor or aerospace environments.

Sitting, standing and travel are required, both domestic and international.

Analytical and mathematical mind, capable of evaluating and solving various complex problems.

Ability to lift 10 pounds.

Climate controlled office and production environment. Requires travel both domestically and internationally.
