Job Summary

As an EMC Technician, you will serve as the hands-on operational core of HCT America’s testing laboratory, working entirely on-site. This critical role involves performing precise electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) tests and measurements in strict accordance with industry standards and internal laboratory procedures. You will be instrumental in bridging the gap between physical testing execution and compliance data collection, ensuring that all tested products meet the highest standards of accuracy.

Beyond daily testing, you will maintain the integrity of our test environments and support the lab’s operational efficiency, helping the company maintain its competitive edge in regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities Test Execution & Setup
  • Setup and configure EMC test equipment, including spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and network analyzers.
  • Prepare test environments and physical fixtures in accordance with specific regulatory test procedures.
  • Conduct precise EMC measurements and tests on various electronic devices, including wireless communication equipment.
Data Analysis & Equipment Maintenance
  • Collect, record, and maintain accurate test data, analyzing results to compare them against established regulatory standards.
  • Perform routine maintenance and schedule calibration of critical EMC test equipment.
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions efficiency and coordinate any necessary repairs to minimize lab downtime.
  • Assist compliance engineers in troubleshooting product failures and developing customized test plans.
  • Prepare detailed test reports documenting procedures, results, and testing anomalies.
  • Participate in technical discussions to contribute to problem-solving initiatives.
  • Perform other ad-hoc laboratory duties, operational support tasks, and general maintenance as assigned by management
Qualification & Skills
  • Must have minimum 2 years of direct, hands-on experience in an EMC Testing Laboratory.
  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related technical field is preferred, but substantial relevant work experience will supersede degree requirements.
  • Proven knowledge and practical experience testing against FCC Part 15B and EN 55032/55035 standards.
  • Additional experience with product compliance evaluation is a strong plus.
  • Familiarity with automotive/radio standards (ETSI EN 301 489, ISO 7637-2, CISPR 25) and chamber validation methods (NSA, sVSWR) are highly desirable but not required.
  • Basic understanding of electrical engineering principles and RF Technology.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team with a proactive attitude.
  • Eligibility to work in the U.S without restrictions or future need for sponsorship.
