Senior Sales Engineer

Advanced Energy is looking for an experienced and competitive Sales Engineer to help drive sales growth at our key semiconductor accounts. The Sales Engineer will collaborate with the sales team, marketing, and design engineers to provide highly differentiated technical support to our customers to drive design wins at a diverse set of applications and customers. This position is eligible for the Sales Incentive Plan with a specific target amount to be determined based on the role.

• Support the adoption of Advanced Energy power solutions at our customers at all stages of the engagement process from pre‑sales activity to post‑production/installation support.
• Support AE solution recommendations, system architecture guidance, schematic review, on‑site customer qualification & debug support, and other technical activities to serve as a reliable partner in the customer design team.
• Develop engineering relationships with customers to identify and communicate technical requirements for new applications or unmet customer needs to product development; this input is critical for new product definition and roadmap.
• Regularly provide technological updates and product training to customers, sales, and distribution.
• Act as a trusted customer advocate, using confidence and persuasive skills to earn the respect of engineering leaders both internally and with the customer.
• Provide a technical perspective that heavily influences the sales strategy.

• This role will be based out of the Milpitas, CA office.
• Time is split between the AE office and customer sites as appropriate.

• Charismatic communicator capable of advocating for customers internally and representing the company externally.
• Solid problem‑solving methodology.
• A passionate and curious technologist with an ability to learn and adapt to industry trends.
• Knowledge of power electronics with the ability to qualify, test, modify, and debug power supplies in the lab as needed.

• Minimum of 5 years of power electronics design and/or applications experience.

As required by multiple state pay transparency laws, Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting. The range of starting base salary for this role is $125,000 to $155,000 per year. Additionally, this position is eligible for the Sales Incentive Plan with a specific target amount to be determined based on the role.
