R&D Human Factors Engineer

Akkodis is seeking R&D Human Factors Engineer in Milpitas CA 95035.Ideally, looking for someone with 8-10+ years of experience with Human Factors/Usability Engineering (medical device preferred; regulated industry required).

Rate Range: $48/hour to $52/hour on w2. The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

• Task analyses.
• Usability risk analyses.
• Usability testing throughout the product development process, from formative testing of early prototypes through usability validation of final designs.
• Design novel methods to understand breadth of user performance and expectations
• Identify meaningful unmet needs and design opportunities.
• Influence program teams to respond to study findings and improve overall product solution to adequately meet user needs.
• Develop collaborative working relationships with other functions across the organization, including but not limited to the following;
• Work with Design, Product Management, Tech Leadership to advocate for user needs and capabilities and refine product definition and detailed design
• Work with regulatory affairs to develop strategies for new product submissions, create submission packages, and respond to questions from regulatory agencies;
• Work with design quality to ensure that the companys usability engineering processes and methodologies meet and surpass the latest expectations of regulatory agencies and provide tangible value for our customers and our business.

• 8-10+ years Human Factors/Usability Engineering (medical device preferred; regulated industry required).
• Usercentered design, usability evaluation, risk/safety analysis experience.
• Hardware, software, or service product experience (at least one required; combination ideal).
• Strong HF research background-this is not a design role but a researchdriven role.
• Ability to translate data into insights that influence design and product decisions.
• Experience working across product development cycles.
• Strong written communication; ability to synthesize findings clearly.
• Executive presence for customer/vendor interactions.
• Human factors research methodologies.
• Human performance analysis (cognitive, perceptual, motor principles).
• Data interpretation and influence on cross functional teams.
