TITLE:
MES SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR. FLSA STATUS: NON-EXEMPT.
REPORTS TO:
SR. MANAGER, ENTERPRISE APPLICATIONS.
Under the direction of the Sr. Manager, Enterprise Application, the MES Systems Administrator will be the primary owner of the infrastructure that hosts, supports, and scales our MES - Opcenter and MESA solutions. You will design, implement, and maintain the underlying servers, virtualization, storage, networking, and automation frameworks that enable real‑time production control, data analytics, and operational visibility across multiple fab sites.
This position is located in Milpitas, California.
- Configure and maintain MES software and associated infrastructure, including user account management, system updates, and performance monitoring to ensure high availability.
- Prepare and maintain detailed MES documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), test scripts (IQ/OQ), validation documents (for regulated environments), and change management records.
- Monitor systems daily and take action to resolve the issue as soon as possible. Work with external vendors as required.
- Respond to inquiries from other team members, managers, or departments.
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures as required.
- Perform other duties of a similar nature or level.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or related field and/or equivalent relevant experience.
- Five years of experience in a technical role using MES platforms, specifically Siemens Ops Center and MESA.
- Proficiency with enterprise-class IBM AS/400 system environments.
- Proficient in the use of MS 365 applications.
- Knowledge and ability to configure and maintain MES software and associated infrastructure, including user account management, system updates, and performance monitoring to ensure high availability.
- Daily monitoring for systems and taking action to resolve the issue as soon as possible.
- Knowledge of the semiconductor and hard disk drive industry principles, practices, and techniques.
- Knowledge and the ability to use SQL, OS 400, HTML, scripting, and web services.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, VPN, firewalls, and network security best practices.
- Knowledge of and ability to use MS Office, including Word, Excel, Power Point, and Access to analyze data, create documents, spreadsheets, and presentations.
- Ability to provide on-call support to quickly address emergency production downtime and maintain operational flow.
- Ability to lead infrastructure projects such as hardware refresh and participate in change management (ITIL) and compliance audits.
- Ability to work productively and collaboratively with all levels of employees and management.
- Ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, with contractors, consultants, employees, management, and vendors.
- Ability to adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
- Demonstrated problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
- Flexible and able to prioritize.
The hourly rate for this full-time position is between $35.00-$45.00 plus bonus target and benefits. Within the range the individual pay may differ depending on additional factors including job responsibilities, job related knowledge, skills, abilities, education, and experience. The hourly pay range shown is subject to change and may be modified periodically.
WORKING CONDITIONSThe MES Systems Administrator works primarily in an indoor environment on a rotating schedule. Works in a class 100 ESD sensitive wafer manufacturing facility; wears a cleanroom (bunny) suit, including hood, gloves, safety glasses, booties, and mask. The schedule may be altered from time‑to‑time to meet business or operational needs; may travel from building‑to‑building as needed. Stands, walks, bends, and twists.
Performs various fine grasping movements; operates a computer and enters information using a keyboard, operates a telephone, and other office equipment; may occasionally be required to push, pull, or lift up to 20 pounds.
