Sandisk’s new Consumer Data Platform & Analytics Enablement Director role sits within the Global Consumer Intelligence & Analytics (CIA) function, supporting the "Consumer at the Center" strategy by driving consumer centricity into decision‑making that fuels company growth. The Director will lead the Consumer data domain, manage its architectural presence within the corporate Lakehouse, and deliver a Power BI‑first, AI‑enabled ecosystem to empower scalable, self‑serve business data and reporting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Work with the corporate Enterprise Data & AI and Consumer Data Teams to own the Consumer division’s curated ("silver" and "gold") data layers, including harmonization of external market data with corporate sources, in alignment with enterprise lakehouse and governance standards.
- Drive data "AI‑readiness" to future‑proof the data ecosystem, inclusive of metadata curation and documentation of business logic.
- Develop and operate the Consumer BI ecosystem on the corporate lakehouse platform (e.g., PowerBI, Databricks), enabling scalable self‑service by analysts and business users.
- Integrate AI into business reporting and underlying analysis to build early warning systems and identify underlying business trends worthy of future study.
- Partner with Consumer division leadership to ensure downstream analysis applications and BI stack deliver reliable, efficient, and valuable service.
- 10+ years relevant experience (consumer tech, consumer electronics, or CPG industries preferred).
- Demonstrated history of business impact through data ecosystem development, data engineering, or Development/Operations (Dev Ops) organization leadership.
- Data modeling & harmonization experience, including with vendors with varying product/timing hierarchies.
- Ability to deliver strong data transformation results inside corporate guardrails (e.g., security and access, governance, intake, and prioritization).
- Experience designing AI‑ready data platforms, including semantic modeling, metadata management, and governed self‑service analytics.
- Direct AI implementation experience is a plus but not required for the role.
- Strong aptitude for data model creation, ideally to include experience in data engineering, analytic application development, and data ecosystem development and operations.
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills at executive levels, with the ability to interpret and summarize data to aid management in achieving strategic and operational goals.
- Team leadership experience, especially management of multiple IT disciplines (Engineering, Dev Ops).
- Confidence and presence collaborating with and presenting to executive staff.
- Ability to effectively manage projects; results‑oriented and able to roll‑up sleeves to deliver critical tasks.
- A self‑starter comfortable in a project‑oriented, high‑growth environment.
- While this role is not expected to write significant amounts of code, the right candidate will be able to read, critique, and improve data models and specific transformations.
