Material Planner

Overview

The Material Planner is responsible for ensuring the timely availability of raw materials, components, and supplies to support production schedules and customer demand. This role involves coordinating with suppliers, monitoring inventory levels, and collaborating with internal teams to maintain efficient material flow while minimizing costs and avoiding shortages or excess stock.

• Material Planning & Scheduling:
  • Develop and maintain material requirements plans based on production schedules and forecasts.
  • Ensure materials are available to meet production timelines without delays.
• Inventory Management:
  • Monitor inventory levels and adjust orders to maintain optimal stock levels.
  • Identify and resolve material shortages or excess inventory situations.
• Supplier Coordination:
  • Communicate with suppliers to confirm delivery schedules and expedite orders when necessary.
  • Negotiate lead times and resolve supply issues to maintain continuity.
• Data Analysis & Reporting:
  • Analyze material usage trends and forecast future requirements.
  • Prepare regular reports on inventory status, material availability, and planning accuracy.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Work closely with procurement, production, and logistics teams to align material planning with operational goals.
  • Support new product launches by ensuring material readiness.
