Job DescriptionWe’re looking for a hands‑on Team Leader to run our Production Control operations on the night shift. This role is responsible for keeping work moving accurately and on time, supporting the team, and stepping in to solve issues when they come up.
You’ll act as the go‑to person during off‑hours—making decisions, ensuring quality and compliance, and keeping communication tight between shifts. This role also includes sample pickups and returns at customer locations.
Must be able to work:
Thursday - Monday 4:30PM to 1:30AM. Considering only local candidates only.
- Lead and support the night shift Production Control team to meet daily productivity and turnaround time goals
- Assign and prioritize work to maintain steady workflow and minimize delays
- Serve as the primary escalation point for operational issues during the shift
- Oversee sample handling, documentation, and chain‑of‑custody compliance
- Perform sample pickups and customer returns as needed
- Monitor attendance, breaks, and staffing coverage to maintain operations
- Review logs, pass downs, and tracking systems for accuracy and completeness
- Partner with day shift leadership to ensure smooth handoffs and communication
- Train and onboard new team members on night shift procedures
- Enforce SOPs, safety requirements, and quality standards
- Support high‑security sample handling by strictly following controlled processes and documentation requirements
- Step in to support operational tasks as needed to keep work moving

- U.S. Citizen
- U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. “Green Card Holder”)
- Political Asylee or Refugee
- Experience in Production Control, lab operations, or similar operational environment
- Prior lead or supervisory experience
- Ability to create and manage daily production
- Understanding of lead times, capacity, and resource allocation
- Knowledge of inventory and materials management
- Ability to analyze production data and performance metrics
- Quickly identifying and resolving production bottlenecks or delays independently
- Strong organization, communication, and problem‑solving skills
- Experience in collaboration with cross‑functional teams
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally for sample pickup/drop‑off
- Comfortable lifting and transporting sample containers (within safety guidelines)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google docs
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift to 10 lbs.
- Physical dexterity sufficient to use hands, arms, and shoulders repetitively to operate a keyboard and other office equipment
- Ability to use a telephone, access file cabinets, receive and ship customer products
