Optomechanical Assembly Technician

Location:

Milpitas, CA.

We are seeking an Associate Test Engineer to join our team. This role requires hands‑on experience with mechanical assembly, optics assembly, troubleshooting, and calibration in a Class 100 cleanroom environment. Candidates should be comfortable working with lasers, optical components, and large mechanical tools while following strict safety and cleanliness protocols.

• Assemble, disassemble, and test optical and mechanical components.
• Troubleshoot and calibrate equipment following written instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Work in a Class 100 cleanroom with full protective gear (bunny suit, gloves, safety goggles).
• Handle and move heavy tools and equipment (lifting up to 50 lbs).
• Perform cable routing and integration of systems.
• Document assembly, testing, and troubleshooting processes accurately.
• Work collaboratively with engineering teams to improve assembly and testing procedures.
• Adhere to strict cleanliness and safety guidelines for laser operations.
• Participate in an intensive on‑the‑job training program.

• Mechanical skills: Assembly, disassembly, troubleshooting, and following written instructions.
• Optics assembly: Experience with lasers, crystals, and optical components (not fiber optics).
• Computer skills: Basic knowledge of Word, Excel, software loading, and troubleshooting.
• Testing & calibration: Understanding how to handle and test optical/mechanical components.
