Position: Associate Test Engineer (Front-End Assembly)
Job Description:

• Role:
  Associate Test Engineer (Rapid Division - Front-End Assembly)
• We are looking for Associate Test Engineers for various positions in manufacturing who will be involved with the testing of new technologies such as optics/opto-mechanical, assembly, electrical/PCB, alignment, and system integration.
• In these positions you will work on assignments that are moderately complex in nature where judgment is required to resolve problems and make routine recommendations.

• Perform set-up, calibration, testing and troubleshooting of mechanical assemblies at system level.
• Perform set-up, calibration, testing and troubleshooting of wafer or Reticle handlers.
• Determine and may develop methods and procedures from blueprints, drawings, and diagrams.
• Test and troubleshoot assemblies and/or final systems, and complete rework on assemblies and/or systems as a result of testing.
• Prepare technical reports summarizing findings and recommending solutions to technical problems. May assist in the selection and set-up of specialized test equipment.
• Work on assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations.
• Perform ongoing daily work with minimal instruction, and with general instructions on newly introduced assignments.
• May provide work assignment direction and technical training to peers.
• Maintain tool schedules, complete alignment processes (milestones) per defined test times - work assignments that are moderately complex in nature where judgment is required in resolving problems
• Support tool progression priorities
  -tests and troubleshoots assemblies and/or final systems
• Prepares technical reports summarizing findings and recommending solutions to technical problems
• Robots- system cabling. Installing optics, mechanical and electrical
• Build and assemble large semiconductor tools (room-sized systems)
• Perform:
  • Mechanical and electromechanical assembly
  • System cabling (2-3 days per tool)
  • Troubleshooting and integration
  • Software loading and basic system setup

Qualifications:

• High school diploma + relevant experience
• Experienced technicians (2-10+ years)
• BSME, BSEET or similar degree in an engineering discipline is strongly preferred.
• Technical Certificate, or AS degree, or military technical training experience, or equivalent vocational training in a technical discipline
• 2-5 years of hands-on assembly experience required
• Have hands-on experience in systems electro-mechanical assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and repair.
• Ability to work in a clean room environment is required.
• Have experience with systems development and testing, including formulating system level requirements, test specifications and test results.
• Able to use and manipulate a variety of fine adjustment hand tools, torque wrenches, and calipers.
• Work effectively across different functional teams in different locations.
• Excellent written and oral interpersonal skills in English.
• Excellent organization skills, with a logical approach to problem solving, good time management and task prioritization.
• Dedicated and able to work with a minimum of supervision.
• Ability to work with little or no instruction on routine work, and with general instructions on new assignments.
• Demonstrate the ability to use a variety of testing and measuring instruments.
• A willingness to learn, collaborate effectively within and across teams, and strive for continuous improvement.
• Able to work extended hours, including weekends.
• Able to stand, sit, bend, climb 8 ft ladder, and periodically lift 30-50 pounds without assistance.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and use of basic tools
• Able to sustain heavy overtime schedule
• Troubleshooting experience
• Cable routing
• Experience with:
  • XY stage robots
  • System cabling
  • Semiconductor or similar complex equipment
• Exposure to robotics, biotech equipment, or capital equipment builds is acceptable
• Shift/time: 1st Shift

  6:00am - 3:30 pm + OT as required
