Optical Assembly Technician
The Optical Assembly Technician is responsible for assembling, aligning, testing, and inspecting precision optical and opto-mechanical components used in advanced semiconductor inspection and metrology systems. This role requires experience working in a cleanroom environment, following detailed work instructions, and performing precision assembly under microscopes while maintaining the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble precision optical, opto-mechanical, and electro-mechanical assemblies according to engineering drawings, work instructions, and manufacturing procedures.
- Perform optical alignment of lenses, mirrors, prisms, beam splitters, lasers, and related components.
- Build subassemblies and complete system assemblies using precision hand tools and fixtures.
- Operate microscopes, optical alignment equipment, interferometers, and precision measuring instruments.
- Apply optical-grade adhesives and epoxies while following proper curing procedures.
- Conduct visual inspections, functional testing, and verification of completed assemblies to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Troubleshoot assembly and alignment issues and work closely with Manufacturing and Engineering teams to resolve problems.
- Accurately document production activities, inspection results, and nonconformance reports.
Required Experience
- 2+ years of experience in optical, semiconductor, photonics, or precision manufacturing.
- Experience assembling precision optical and electro-mechanical components.
- Ability to read engineering drawings, assembly prints, and manufacturing documentation.
- Experience performing assembly under microscopes.
- Familiarity with optical alignment techniques and precision measurement equipment.
- Working knowledge of cleanroom and ESD practices.

Education
- High school diploma or equivalent;
