CNC Machine Operator / Drill Operator
This role operates CNC drilling equipment to support printed circuit board production, ensuring parts meet precise specifications and quality standards. You will follow detailed work instructions, monitor production status, and collaborate closely with the drilling department to meet established priorities and deadlines.
Responsibilities- Operate CNC Excellon and Hitachi drilling machines in accordance with production priorities established by the Drilling Department Supervisor.
- Use calipers to perform accurate board measurements and pin gauges to verify material dimensions and tolerances.
- Follow travelers and work instructions to complete jobs correctly and on schedule.
- Monitor the quality of work and ensure compliance with process and product specifications throughout the production run.
- Communicate material inventory concerns to the Department Supervisor to prevent production delays.
- Inform the Department Supervisor promptly of any changes in production status, issues, or deviations from plan.
- Follow all company and departmental processes, procedures, and safety guidelines during setup, operation, and shutdown.
- Assist with general machine operation, assembly tasks, and the use of hand tools as needed to support production.
- Assist new hires with basic machine setup and operations, and provide relief support on equipment and processes when required.
- Participate in the evaluation of processes, new equipment, and procedures to improve efficiency, quality, and safety.
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth workflow and adherence to production schedules.
- Experience with CNC operation and machine operation in a production or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and follow travelers, work instructions, and related production documentation.
- Knowledge and understanding of prints and specifications to ensure parts meet required standards.
- Ability to visually verify fine detail work with a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to use calipers, pin gauges, and other measurement tools for precise board and material inspection.
- Capability to pull, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs as part of daily tasks.
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time during the shift.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English to the degree necessary to perform job duties and follow instructions.
- General labor and production experience, including basic assembly and hand tool use.
- Machine operator or drill operator background in a manufacturing setting.
Skills & Qualifications
- At least 1 year of experience in printed circuit board (PCB) manufacturing preferred.
- Knowledge of manufacturing flex and rigid-flex printed circuit boards preferred.
- Familiarity with blueprint reading and interpreting technical drawings.
- Experience following detailed travelers and work instructions in a controlled manufacturing environment.
- Comfort working with hand tools and performing basic assembly tasks.
- Strong sense of individual accountability and personal responsibility for work quality and timeliness.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and willingness to participate in process and equipment evaluations.

WorkEnvironment
This is a full-time role in a manufacturing environment focused on advanced materials and printed circuit board production. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Milpitas, CA.
