- Salary: commensurate with relevant and previous experience
- Pay Range: $28.69/hr – $38.25/hr
The Field Support Engineer (FSE) provides on-site assistance to customers with installation, calibration, troubleshooting and repair of automated test equipment (ATE) power measurement systems. The FSE resolves customer issues via technical assistance within the prescribed resolution time or escalates when necessary. The FSE will learn and use Chroma Power Pro, Battery Pro and Captivate software to diagnose and resolve problems and train customers on proper usage.
Activities are to be performed per management directives and in compliance with Chroma USA policies and procedures.
- Provide on-site installation, calibration, troubleshooting and repair of ATE power measurement systems, Battery Test Systems, and related instruments at customer locations
- Provide pre-sales technical support to articulate product functionality and features
- Maintain product demo room with operational equipment
- Conduct product demos and training at Chroma facilities, customer sites, or online
- Resolve customer issues within the prescribed resolution time or escalate as needed
- Travel domestically and/or internationally up to 60%; weekend travel may be required
- Read schematics and apply electronics theory to diagnose issues involving Chroma AC power test instruments
- Follow up on customer issues and pursue corrective actions diligently
- Become proficient with Power Pro, Battery Pro, Soft Panel and Captivate software
- Continuously review processes for improvements and practice effective time management
- Minimum: two years of formal technical schooling in electricity/electronics AND five years or more experience with AC power electronics/battery test solutions OR a four-year degree in Electronic Technology or Electrical Engineering
- Ability to work under tight or shifting deadlines and adhere to procedures
- Solid electrical knowledge to understand industry requirements
- Logical problem-solving approach
- Professional verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in MS Office
- Ability to work out of a home office
- Field service experience in a technical discipline is a plus
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or a Permanent Resident
- Knowledge of Power Pro or Battery Pro software is a plus
- Knowledge of LabVIEW is a plus
- Preference for Mandarin-speaking candidates
This is a non-supervisory position.
