MATERIAL PLANNERFLSA STATUS: EXEMPT
REPORTS TO:
SR. MANAGER, OPERATIONS SUPPORT
SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Sr. Manager of Operations Support, the Material Planner is responsible for planning, scheduling, and monitoring the movement of material through the production cycle, including monitoring and reviewing parts usage and requirements, coordinating the efficient movement of materials with Purchasing, Production, and Manufacturing departments, tracking and monitoring data using People Soft or similar ERP system, and analyzing data, preparing reports, and recommending appropriate action as needed.
This position is located in Milpitas, California.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Plans, schedules, monitors, and tracks the movement of material through the production cycle using People Soft, SAP, or similar ERP system
Monitors and reviews parts usage and requirements to ensure inventory control levels are met consistently
Collaborates with Purchasing to ensure that materials or parts ordered are cost effective, high quality, and available when needed
Collaborates with Document department to ensure that Change Control Notifications (CCN’s) reflect the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding part numbers or other material modifications
Ensures that target reclaim Return Material Authorizations (RMA’s) are prepared accurately and on-time; provides reclaim documentation for the Finance department
Responds to requests for parts or materials from other departments when needed
Adheres to all safety policies and procedures as required
Performs other duties of a similar nature or level
* MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diplomas or GEDTwo years of hands’ on experience working as a Material Handler or Scheduler in a high volume manufacturing environment
Experience using an ERP system such as People Soft or SAP Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Applications Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge and ability to plan, schedule, track, and monitor various types of materials or parts to ensure that inventory levels are met consistently
Knowledge and ability to use and ERP system such as People Soft or SAP to plan, schedule, and track materials or parts
Knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Office applications to create spreadsheets, Word documents, and presentations
Ability to communicate effectively and collaboratively with all levels of employees and management both verbally and in writing
Able to comply with all safety policies and procedures
Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking skills
Demonstrated organizational and time management skills
Demonstrated problem-solving and trouble shooting skills
Flexible and able to prioritize
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The Material Planner or works primarily in an office environment from Monday to Friday. The schedule may be altered from time-to-time to meet business or operational needs; may travel from building-to-building as needed. May be exposed to a variety of physical conditions such as fumes, chemicals, odors, dust, gases, or have close proximity to mechanical/moving parts; stands, sits, and walks; performs various fine grasping movements, bends, and twists;
operates a computer and enters information using a keyboard, operates a telephone, and other office equipment. May occasionally push, pull, or lift up to 30 or more pounds.
The annual base salary for this full-time position is between $92,929.95-$ + bonus target + benefits. Within the range the individual pay may differ depending on additional factors including job responsibilities, job related knowledge, skills, abilities, education, and experience. The annual base pay range shown is subject to change and may be modified periodically.
