Associate Test Engineer 1 Shift 2
This is a hands-on optical assembly role focused on building subassemblies used within KLA systems. The position involves assembling components such as lenses and light sources in a cleanroom environment. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with their hands, using basic hand tools, and bringing a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Location:
Milpitas, California (Onsite)
- Assemble optical and mechanical subassemblies following established procedures and work instructions.
- Build components such as lenses, light sources, and other optical assemblies used in KLA systems.
- Utilize basic hand tools and precision equipment to complete assembly tasks.
- Follow drawings, diagrams, and assembly instructions to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Perform basic inspections and verification of assembled components.
- Support rework and adjustments to assemblies as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including adherence to cleanroom requirements.
- Collaborate with team members and support manufacturing objectives and production schedules.
Education:
Associate degree preferred. Candidates with relevant technical training, military experience, or comparable hands-on experience will also be considered.
Experience:
Prior assembly experience is preferred, particularly in optical, electro-mechanical, electronics, robotics, manufacturing, or other technical assembly environments. Candidates with approximately 2+ years of related experience are preferred, though strong entry-level candidates with relevant technical backgrounds may also be considered.
Skills:
Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working with basic hand tools. Basic computer skills, including email, are sufficient. Ability to follow written instructions, drawings, and assembly procedures with attention to detail.
Work Environment:
This position requires working onsite in a cleanroom environment. Previous cleanroom experience is not required, but candidates should be comfortable working in that setting. Shift 2 hours are 3:30 PM - 1:00 AM, Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime and optional weekend support opportunities. The role includes a 30-minute break and a 1-hour lunch.
