As a Calibration Technician, you will serve as the hands‑on operational core of HCT America’s calibration laboratory, working entirely on‑site. This critical role involves performing precise calibration and verification of test instruments across various domains (electrical, mechanical, RF, environmental) in strict accordance with industry standards and internal laboratory procedures. You will be instrumental in bridging the gap between physical instrument adjustment and quality data collection, ensuring that all calibrated equipment meets the highest standards of traceability and measurement accuracy.
Beyond daily calibration tasks, you will maintain the integrity of our master standards and support the lab’s operational efficiency, helping the company maintain its competitive edge in precision equipment calibration.
- Perform precise calibration and verification of test instruments (electrical, mechanical, RF/EMC, environmental) according to documented procedures and standards.
- Operate and thoroughly maintain master calibration equipment, including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, torque tools, temperature/humidity chambers, and sound level meters.
- Adhere strictly to ISO 17025 and ANSI Z540 regulatory requirements to ensure measurement traceability and accuracy.
- Prepare, set up, and organize calibration equipment and physical workstations for daily testing.
- Record calibration results, measurement uncertainties, and equipment status accurately in the company’s Quality Management System (QMS).
- Generate and meticulously review calibration certificates for technical accuracy and completeness.
- Perform basic troubleshooting and preventive maintenance of lab instruments to ensure operational uptime.
- Coordinate with senior technicians and engineers for complex equipment repairs or advanced calibration procedures.
- Support internal and external laboratory audits by maintaining proper documentation, history logs, and records.
- Participate in ongoing training programs to continuously expand knowledge of calibration processes, evolving standards, and advanced equipment.
- Collaborate with other team members to meet strict commercial deadlines and maintain high service quality, contributing to process improvement initiatives.
- Perform other ad‑hoc laboratory duties, operational support tasks, and general facility maintenance as assigned by management.
- Entry‑level to 5 years of experience in calibration or a technical laboratory environment (Highly Preferred).
- Associate or bachelor’s degree, or a technical certificate in Electronics, Electrical, Metrology, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field is preferred, but substantial relevant work experience will supersede degree requirements.
- Strong military calibration background (e.g., US Air Force PMEL or military TMDE experience) is a significant plus.
- Prior hands‑on experience (academic or professional) with electrical, mechanical, or RF test equipment is highly preferred.
- Functional knowledge of calibration principles, metrology concepts, and measurement uncertainty is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with ISO 17025 and ANSI Z540 standards is highly desirable.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to closely follow standardized, step‑by‑step procedures.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work productively within a collaborative lab environment.
- Eligibility to work in the U.S. without restrictions or future need for sponsorship.
