Staff Scientist, Single-Cell Multiomics Product Development

Job Responsibilities

• Lead assay development tasks to launch high‑quality products for the BD Rhapsody platform, including feasibility studies, process and QC development, optimization, Verification & Validation, and tech transfer support.
• Drive development work in collaboration with wet‑lab scientists, bioinformatics scientists, commercial and operational partners.
• Design and perform hands‑on experiments to achieve development objectives.
• Independently analyze and interpret single‑cell genomics data and present results to cross‑functional teams.
• Compile analyses and develop protocols, technical notes, posters, and presentations showcasing Rhapsody platform performance.
• Provide scientific expertise to optimize current products and support the development of new product applications.

• Doctoral degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, biomedical sciences, or a related field.
• 8+ years of research experience, including 5+ years of industry experience in a related field.
• Extensive experience with RNA‑seq and other next‑generation sequencing techniques, including library preparation, sequencing, and data analysis.
• Experience with genomic assays using FFPE (formalin‑fixed, paraffin‑embedded) samples.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, rapidly changing environment.
• Demonstrated ability to develop assay products, critically analyze data, and maintain excellent experimental records.

• FFPE sample handling expertise.
• Experience with assay/reagent product development.
• Experience with spatial genomics and/or proteomics.
• Experience with single‑cell multi‑omics assays.
• Experience generating assays for biopharma/translational market.
• Immunology background.
