Retail Associate

General Purpose

The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate greets Customers in a courteous and friendly manner, treats fellow Associates with respect, follows company best practice standards, maintains a clean work area, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. The Associate may be requested to perform additional tasks as needed.

• Demonstrate safety as the top priority and practice safe behaviors.
• Maintain a high degree of awareness on the sales floor, keep egress clear, and report unsafe conditions.
• Treat all Customers and Associates with respect and courtesy.
• Assist Customers—registered, merchandise assistance, answer questions politely and knowledgeably.
• Provide prompt and efficient responses to Customer Service calls.
• Represent the Company brand at all times.
• Perform cleaning tasks (sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping counters and mirrors, replenishing restroom supplies, disinfecting high‑touch areas).
• Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to the dress code.
• Perform daily assigned sizing and recovery per company best practice.
• Expedite newly received merchandise to the sales floor, merchandize per guidelines, maintain brand familiarity.
• Understand Loss Prevention Awareness, Shortage Highway, and Store Protection Specialist procedures.
• Demonstrate integrity and honesty, safeguard confidential and financial information.
• Follow all Mark‑Out‑of‑Stock policies and procedures.
• Follow all cash, check, charge card, refund, and online procedures, maintain accuracy.
• Show sense of urgency and maximize productivity by executing best practices.

• Communicate effectively with customers, associates and leadership in a friendly and respectful manner.
• Perform basic mathematical calculations used in retail.

• Use store equipment (PDTs, registers and PCs).
• Ability to stand, walk and move up to 100% of the working time.
• Regularly bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach and stoop.
• Occasionally push, pull and lift more than 25 pounds.
• Use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders and other supplies.
• Some assignments may require other qualifications and skills.
• Stockroom shifts may require pushing, pulling and lifting more than 20 pounds.
