Trades ​/ Skilled Labor Technician, Installation Technician

About the Role

Northland Controls is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Technician in Malaysia to support the installation and implementation of security systems, including access control and CCTV. This role works closely with Lead Technicians and Project Managers to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

• Test all equipment after termination to ensure proper system performance
• Follow Northland’s Safety Manual, prioritizing safety for yourself and others at all times
• Complete and log required paperwork (vehicle logs, timecards, field service requests, etc.) in a timely manner
• Report project status, delays, or changes to the Lead Technician or Project Manager
• Maintain detailed daily logs of customer requests, work performed, job numbers, dates and times, and assigned tasks
• Adhere to company procedures, systems, and installation techniques
• Ensure work is completed within estimated time frames for each project phase (e.g., wire pulling, mounting)
• Support system startup alongside the Lead Technician
• Assist with project closeout and turnover to clients and service teams
• Mentor Installers and junior Technicians when needed

• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and building plans
• High attention to detail

• Vocational or technical school training preferred (on-the-job training available)
• Minimum 2 years of related experience preferred
• Experience with security systems installation (Access Control / CCTV) preferred
