Electrician Trainee

Overview

Electrical Trainee is a working field position that assists the branch Foreman and Electricians on residential solar installation projects.

• Assist in the installation of electrical systems that interconnect the solar array to the grid power of the customer’s residential property.
• Assist in troubleshooting system problems and resolving electrical issues.
• Assemble racking and solar arrays when assigned.
• Perform trenching, concrete work, and equipment assembly.
• Maintain project clean‑up including the client site and installation vehicle.
• Ensure attention to detail with an emphasis on safety, quality, customer service, and productivity.
• Demonstrate knowledge of OSHA standards related to photovoltaic installations and enforce safety practices and standards.
• Develop a positive working dynamic within the installation crew and branch co‑workers.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of electrical installation and repair experience.
• Knowledge of NEC and applicable codes and standards.
• Ability to perform all installation duties of the Installer and Lead Installer.
• Professional appearance and customer interaction.
• Strong work ethic, high level of craftsmanship, and attention to detail.
• Basic computer knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Willingness to participate in Power+ programs and cross‑training.
• Strong mechanical and construction skills.
• Excellent verbal communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Maintain a valid Driver’s License.
• 5% travel required.

• Transport materials and equipment up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds with assistance.
• Work safely in a branch, warehouse, or rooftop environment.
• Operate office equipment, including computers, ensuring accuracy of work.
• Interact with co‑workers and participate in meetings.
• Work on rooftops with various angles and surfaces.
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
