New College Grad, SSD Firmware Engineer
We are seeking a New College Graduate (NCG) SSD Firmware Engineer to join the firmware engineering team. This role is intended for conversion of a high‑performing intern who has demonstrated strong technical skills, ownership, and the ability to contribute to production‑quality firmware development. The engineer will work on enterprise SSD firmware, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to design, implement, validate, and support firmware features across the product lifecycle.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, develop, and debug C/C++ firmware for enterprise SSD controllers
- Contribute to firmware features across EVT → DVT → LVM → MP stages
- Work on NVMe protocol, storage command handling, and performance optimization
- Develop and execute unit tests, system tests, and validation tools
- Analyze firmware logs, traces, and failure data to identify root causes
- Collaborate with hardware, validation, and system software teams
- Participate in code reviews and adhere to secure coding and quality standards
- Support customer‑specific firmware deliverables when required
Required:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (recent graduate)
- Strong programming experience in C and/or C++
- Working knowledge of data structures, operating systems, and embedded systems
- Familiarity with Linux/Windows development environments
- Excellent problem‑solving and debugging skills
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
Preferred Skills:
- Internship experience in SSD firmware, embedded systems, storage, or low‑level software
- Exposure to NVMe, NAND flash, storage protocols, or embedded RTOS
- Experience with Python or scripting for automation and validation
- Experience using version control systems (Git) and code review workflows
- Experience with AI or AI driven development methodology
