This role sits within ABB's Robotics business, a leading global robotics company. We're entering an exciting new chapter as we've announced the plan for Soft Bank Group to acquire ABB Robotics. Soft Bank is a globally recognized technology group and investor/operator focused on AI, robotics, and next-generation computing. This position reports to: R&D Principal Engineer
As an intern, you will have the opportunity to gain practical experience through various projects. Each day, you will acquire knowledge by performing tasks as directed. You will also showcase your skills by supporting ABB's operations and enhancing personal education/employment opportunities.
The work model for the role is onsite/hybrid in San Jose, CA.
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Develop responsive user interfaces using HTML5, CSS3, and Java Script
- Build web applications technologies (ASP.NET Core, Blazor)
- Implement modern frontend frameworks (React.js, or Angular)
- Collaborate with UX/UI designers to translate mockups into functional, clean code
- Write maintainable code following best practices and participate in code reviews
- Debug and troubleshoot UI issues across different browsers and devices
- Learn Agile/Scrum methodologies in a real-world environment

Frontend Frameworks:
- React.js / Angular

.NET Technologies:
- Blazor (Web Assembly or Server) - ASP.NET Core MVC / Razor Pages
- SignalR for real-time communication

- HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+) - Responsive & mobile-first design
- Git version control
- Web accessibility (WCAG)
Qualifications for the role:
Education:
- Currently enrolled in undergraduate degree (Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or related)
Must Have:
- Solid understanding of HTML5, CSS3, Java Script
- Basic knowledge Framework or ASP.NET Core
- Familiarity with Git/Git Hub
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Eager to learn and work in a team
