Position: Shop Fitter- 150
SHOP FITTER

Location:

Milton Keynes
Salary: £36,750 – £39,990 per year, depending on experience
Shift Uplift: 12.5% (£41,343 – £44,988)
Shift Pattern: 6:00am – 2:00pm / 2:00pm – 10:00pm

Your New Opportunity
A superb opportunity has arisen for an experienced Shop Fitter to transfer their installation and fit-out skills into the rail industry.
You will join a highly skilled engineering team carrying out the complete overhaul of passenger trains, installing and assembling interior components to a high standard.
If you have experience working with interiors, fixtures, fittings, panels and assemblies and are looking for an opportunity to move into the rail industry, this could be an excellent next step.

Key Responsibilities
Carry out the assembly and fitting of components to rail vehicles.
Install and fit interior panels, flooring, seating and passenger comfort equipment.
Carry out detailed interior fit-out and installation work.
Work from engineering drawings, specifications and work instructions.
Use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
Complete accurate fitting, adjustment and assembly work.
Maintain a high standard of workmanship and finish.
Work both independently and as part of a team.

The Ideal Candidate
You will have previous experience as a Shop Fitter, ideally with experience of commercial, retail or interior fit-out.

Transferable experience from the following backgrounds would also be considered:

Shop fitting
Kitchen fitting
Joinery
Carpentry
Interior fit-out
Vehicle or coach building
Manufacturing and assembly

You will also have:

Experience using hand and power tools.
The ability to read and work from engineering drawings or detailed instructions.
Excellent attention to detail and a strong focus on quality.
Good practical problem-solving skills.
The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Flexibility and confidence working rotating shifts, including earlies and lates.

Essential Criteria
Minimum Level 2 qualification in Shop Fitting, Joinery, Carpentry or a relevant discipline.
Full UK driving licence.
Ability to pass a medical and drug & alcohol screening.
