A public sector organisation is seeking a Security Systems Installer, delivering critical security infrastructure and technical installations across the UK and internationally. This role offers the chance to work on highly secure government projects, supporting the installation and deployment of advanced security systems in some of the world's most challenging environments.
We are seeking experienced installation professionals with expertise in electronic security systems, data infrastructure and secure environments who are comfortable working both in Milton Keynes and overseas as required.
This is an initial contract for 12-months with a daily rate of £345 per day inside IR35 via an Umbrella company.
The RoleAs a Technical Installer, you will provide installation team leadership and technical expertise for the delivery of security systems projects. Working alongside engineers, project teams and stakeholders, you will support all stages of project delivery, from preparation and testing through to installation and commissioning.
Key responsibilities include:- Leading and supporting installation activities in the UK and overseas
- Completing material take-offs and supporting equipment procurement
- Preparing equipment and tools for dispatch
- Producing Health & Safety documentation
- Installing and commissioning technical security systems
- Working with CCTV, Access Control, Public Address and associated infrastructure
- Installing metallic and PVC containment systems
- Installing structured cabling and secure communications infrastructure
- Interpreting technical drawings, schematics and installation documentation
Ensuring compliance with government security and installation standards - Supporting knowledge transfer and continuous improvement initiatives
Experience in one or more of the following is highly desirable:
- CCTV Systems (including Hanwha and Ipro)
- Public Address Systems (including ASL/Zenitel)
- Structured cabling and secure infrastructure
- Electrical testing and fault finding
- Level 3 qualification in an Electrical, Electronic or Electrotechnical discipline
- Current ECS Card at Installation or Approved Competency level
- SMSTS or equivalent Health & Safety qualification
- Demonstrable experience installing security systems within secure environments
- Experience of working to government security standards
- Strong understanding of:
- Access Control Systems
- CCTV Systems
- Public Address Systems
- Data Cabling & Infrastructure
- Electrical testing requirements
- Ability to interpret and analyse technical drawings and specifications
- Experience using Microsoft Visio, Project, Excel, Word and Power Point
- Experience developing and implementing safe systems of work
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
