Annual Salary Range: $99,994 - $124,994

Position Summary Reporting to the Manager, Licensing & Enforcement, this position is responsible for the direct supervision of the licensing administration staff and Screening Officers to ensure staff and systems effectively adhere to applicable legislative and administrative requirements. Along with overseeing the issuance of licenses, this role is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations at the Licensing and Parking Enforcement customer service counter, including scheduling, assisting with escalated customer service issues and supporting the Manager of Licensing & Enforcement.
This role will be primarily in-office.

Job Responsibilities Recruits, selects, supervises, motivates and trains assigned staff, ensuring effective teamwork, high standards of work quality, organizational compliance with policies and procedures
Supervises administrative staff by assessing, prioritizing and having oversight on daily activities to ensure that services are provided efficiently and effectively
Authorized discretionary powers to resolve elevated customer inquiries in accordance with Town by-laws Identifies opportunities for process and service improvement in Licensing and Enforcement customer service areas and develops and implements improvement initiatives
Ensures all records and reports are maintained with respect to all license, renewals, complaints and related actions
Provides superior front-line customer service and administrative functions in a fast paced, time-sensitive, municipal l environment;
Prepares, composes and responds to correspondence and statistical information, documentation and/or requests for information as required.
Maintains asset inventory, arranging service and maintenance of equipment as required, including liaising with internal departments and outside service providers to assist in identifying and resolving issues.
Prepares payment reconciliation reports for approved payments to suppliers and service providers.
Coordinates licensing issuance with the Town’s Planning Department, Engineering Department, Milton Fire Department and external agencies
Oversee scheduling of licensing appointments and renewals and appeals
Provides encouragement, guidance, training and support to staff to fulfilling their key responsibilities.
Provides back-up support to other administrative functions and performs other related duties, as assigned, necessary departmental and corporate objectives, including those that may occur in unplanned or emergency situations.
Provides telephone, email, counter and dispatch services for the department by responding to routine enquiries and complaints from the public and staff. Transfers/directs enquiries to appropriate staff members, City departments and/or external agencies. Responds to base radio and dispatches calls to appropriate staff, as required.
