Powerline Technician Hydro

Milton Hydro is expanding its Powerline Technician Team in response to a growing community and customer-focused approach. As a Journeyperson, you will undertake various responsibilities including the construction, troubleshooting, and maintenance of electrical systems, both overhead and underground. Emergency response capability and adherence to safety standards are critical for this full time, unionized position.

• Construct and maintain electrical distribution systems up to 27.6 kV
• Perform live line work on both overhead and underground systems
• Operate boom trucks and associated equipment
• Install meters and conductors as assigned
• Mentor apprentices and contribute to their training

• Journeyperson Powerline Technician Certificate or equivalent
• Full certification in Utility Work Protection Code
• Valid Class DZ driver’s license
• Proficiency in electrical utility safety practices
• Physical fitness for climbing and outdoor work
