We are currently hiring a Brewer in Milton, DE. Brewers take raw ingredients and brew delicious and amazing beer. They perform all actions necessary to complete successful beer production, including malt handling, brewhouse operations, cellaring operations (including yeast), and finishing operations such as filtration and clarification. They support departmental improvement initiatives related to consistency, quality, safety, housekeeping, sanitation, efficiency, recycling, etc.,
and preserve a safe working environment for co‑workers, vendors and guests regardless of shift.
- Maintain a continuous workflow in a 24‑hour operation while ensuring high levels of departmental safety, quality, efficiency, cleanliness and sanitation, utilizing inter‑departmental resources as necessary.
- Perform all brewing and cellaring operations, including equipment operation and tasks required to efficiently produce the beer within defined specifications.
- Carry out rigorous sanitation schedules and CIP procedures for processes and equipment; perform general housekeeping.
- Work with fully automated machinery via the Brewmaxx platform. Operate equipment, analyze data through trending software and access data archives.
- Learns continuously through various departmental training initiatives; demonstrate training assimilation and may perform process and procedure training to others as requested by supervision in accordance with departmental standards.
- Participate in Sensory Panel and perform unbiased analysis to improve the department and the beer.
- Collaborate with Maintenance and coworkers using Root Cause Analysis to identify and correct process deficiencies.
- Maintain thorough and accurate documentation related to departmental operations, variances, items of concern, etc., troubleshoot issues as appropriate, and keep Supervisors informed.
- Ensure all quality specification checks are completed on brite beer and effectively communicate to the packaging team when the product is ready to be handed off.
- Ensure beer is brewed/processed as scheduled, per SOP and recipe specifications, and adhere to quality specs throughout operations to achieve the highest levels of efficiency, consistency and quality for customers.
- Support the Warehouse team in delivery of raw ingredients, verifying that the ingredients prepared are correct and follow the recipe/procedure.
- Associate degree in science or a Brewing Certificate.
- Basic Microsoft Office skills; heavily reliant on Excel, Word, Teams, and Outlook.
- Experience with Brewmaxx or other fully automated brewing software platforms.
The pay rate for this role if hired is $21 – $24.70 per hour. The starting rate within this range depends on related experience, skill set and location.
