Location: Route 9 Primary Care, DI and Emergency
Status: Full Time 72 Hours
Shift: Day/Nights
Salary Range: $37.98 - $58.87 hourly
General
Summary:
The Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care to patients within an assigned unit with a commitment to quality and safety. Professional nursing practices requiring specialized knowledge, judgment, and skill are performed in accordance with hospital policy, procedures, and nursing philosophy.
- Provide direct, professional nursing care to specified population of patients in the acute care setting.
- Develop patient-centered plan of care based on individualized needs.
- Maintain confidentiality of the patient medical record.
- Counsel and educate patients and their care partners on treatment plans.
- Administer medication following the five rights of medication administration.
- Provide wound care and dressing changes, as applicable.
- Read and interpret patient information, making treatment decisions when appropriate.
- Consult with physicians to decide on best treatment decisions when appropriate.
- Perform nursing interventions to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Observe and record patient behavior and response to nursing interventions.
- Demonstrate quality, safe and effective patient care.
- Provide delegation to unlicensed assistive staff and Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) staff.
- Demonstrate standards of excellence including practicing nursing with core values of compassion, accountability, respect, teamwork and integrity.
- Execute quality and performance improvement plans (only for RN evaluation).
- Participate in decision making and take actions based on ethical principles (only for RN evaluation).
- Provide timely and accurate documentation of patient care.
- Perform all other duties as assigned within the scope and range of job responsibilities.
Education: Associate Degree Nursing or Nursing Diploma.
Credential(s): Registered Nurse;
Basic Life Support; NRP within 6 months of hire, if not already obtained. ACLS/PALS may be required per manager’s direction and timeframe. Commit to seeking specialty certification within the time frame as indicated during interview.
Experience:
Required
Experience in critical care.
Preferred Education, Credential(s) and ExperienceEducation: Bachelor Degree Nursing.
Credential(s): Certification related to the position, if applicable (Trauma Nursing Core Course Certification; Pediatric Advanced Life Support; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support).
Experience: Preferred 2 years' critical care experience.
